Impaired Risk Underwriting
"I can finally protect my family!" Working in the “Age Imminent Dilemma©” of impaired risk underwriting, those six words are music to our ears. John G. Brady is the founder of Essential Strategic Partners, Ltd, an insurance firm focused on providing insurance for individuals in impaired risk situations and wealth protection strategies for those clients.
Impaired risk typically refers to a history of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, memory loss or sleep apnea. In some cases, impaired risk can be non-medical [i.e. poor driving record, foreign travel to countries at security risk]. These situations require specialized skill and experience to secure the most favorable offers available from life insurance companies.
In the early 1990s, while co-hosting of “The Insurance Forum” radio show, many listeners had specific concerns about high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, arthritis etc. Also, as a guest on the cable television program, “Money Talk”, Mr. Brady shared his approach to working with the age 65 plus audience and their concerns about long-term care protection. Two of the most important aspects of business are "Relationship and Trust". Without a solid relationship and unshakeable trust, it doesn't matter how much knowledge you’ve acquired.
Although Mr. Brady’s education is in management/marketing, the real education has come from 20 years of working with clients having health impairments. Patience is a critical attribute when working in the impaired risk arena. Patience with clients, patience with underwriters, patience with doctor's offices supplying needed information. With patience also comes a great need for a methodic process to manage and keep all parties on track to carry this effort to completion.
Essential Strategic Partners, Ltd has relationships with most insurance carriers and offers advice for each client situation/problem and their potential solution. Mr. Brady is also a registered representative offering securities through New York Life Securities LLC, member FINRA/SIPC, a licensed insurance agency.
When he is not engulfed in insurance negotiations, Mr. Brady spends his time with his wife, Nancy, and their three children, Bridgette, Cody and Dylan. Most family days are either at the ice hockey rink or coaching travel soccer. And for some group fun Mr. Brady performs [guitar & vocals] a concert in the park annually at Memorial Park in Sea Cliff, NY.
